Blessed

Saying goodbye...  I am so grateful for all the prayers that were said on our behalf.  The kids have done surprisingly well!  I know this is the grace and goodness of the Lord.

This picture was taken right before we took Nate to the airport.  I love Mya's thumbs up!  That's my girl!

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Therefor most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 12:9

The kids, especially Mya miss Nate tons!  I'm soooo very thankful for modern technology!  The girls are always eager to talk with their daddy and will drop whatever they are doing in order to talk with him.

It has been a difficult transition, to say the least.  I am so thankful for my friend's and family's love and support!
My dear friend Amy invited me to the Zoo shortly after Nate left.  It turned out to be a tad colder than we thought it would be, but we refused to let the chilly weather change our plans.  Although we all left tired and cold, we had a blast!  We got a good laugh over the fact that our kids seemed to enjoy the statues and leaves more than any of the exhibits at the zoo.  :)  Worked for us!  We had a lot of catching up to do!

It had been a long time since I had taken my kids to the zoo.  And it was obvious.  Audrey asked, with a very concerned look on her face as we entered the zoo, "Uuuuuuh so mom?  Are the animals in cages or out of cages?"  Also, evident when they started shouting, "Mom!  Birds!  Real Flamingos!  Look Mom look!"

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in our zoo.  It just seemed like there weren't as many cool animals as I remember.  I mean, what happened to the anteater?!  :)  Seriously though, no polar bear, no gorilla (my person fave), no giraffes, no zebra...  don't get me started.  So, you can imagine our excitement when this friendly guy decided he wanted to visit with the kids.  This little monkey seemed excited to have guests and was the highlight of the day.

It was good day.  Thank you so much Amy!

Mya, Addison, Audrey

You know a friend is special when you can just pick up where you left off.  These girls have been playmates since they were old enough to babble and drool.

Our friends are great and family even greater!  I am so blessed!
My best friends!  Love you all!

  1. Ummm...the picture of your kids talking to Nate on the computer made me cry. :( I remember what it was like having to say goodbye when we were in the Marines and Jake would go on deployments. We weren't in for too much longer after getting married, but it was agonizing and heartbreaking. I will be keeping your family in my prayers. I loved your comment that we're practically family...if not related somehow by marriage then it's because we're sisters in Christ. LOVE you!
